I'm good when I'm indoors, but if I'm stuck far from home and a major boomer rolls in, I get nervous.

Of course, living in the most active thunderstorm zone in North America doesn't help!

This definitely tops the cool list for the week!carmilevyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00360045114379957605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8501489.post-58749339002513330792008-07-30T11:12:00.000-07:002008-07-30T11:12:00.000-07:00That is such a great picture! The tires provide perfect insulation against the electrical force! And, as I just read on The Weather Notebook: "A car, moving or not, is a very safe place to be during a thunderstorm, because of something called the skin effect. It's not the tires or the frame that protects you, it's the metal structure of the car itself that acts like a protective covering, or a skin, that conducts electric current around the surface of the car and not inside it. Hence, it's safest when the windows are up." DUH!! So glad you are safe & had a marvelous time in spite of it all! Watching for your Sports Blog posts!!!
