Halfway There...

Weeding weeding and more weeding!! We spent about 4 hours out in the yard late afternoon and evening getting things ready. We have our onions, beets, carrots and radish planted. We have the dirt all prepared and ready to go for the peppers, beans, pumpkins and cucumbers. So tomorrow we will get out there and get the rest of the seeds in the ground and the flowers all planted the way I want them. Working in the garden is sure a great workout, although my back is sure hurting tonight.

We will try and get some pictures taken and posted this weekend.

I think Chris and I are off to take Belle for her walk, she needs to burn off some energy.

Working in the Yard.....Finally!

After weeks of frustrating weather, especially on the weekends Chris and I were able to spend much of today out in the yard. We cleaned things up, weeded and got the dirt ready for all my seeds. So tomorrow we will get out there and get the seeds all planted and we should be good to go. I am so excited about the veggies we will have from our garden instead of spending a fortune at the store. I hate that what seems to be good for you is always the most expensive.

We have three different places we will be planting our veggies. Along one side of our fence we will be planting our beans, then in the other section will be our carrots, beets, onions, peppers and radishes. Then on the hill on the side of the yard we will be planting our pumpkins and our cucumbers. I love it. After all that is said and done I just need to get my flowers all planted where I want them and we will be good to go. I will be sure to take pics and post them as soon as I get the chance.

On a side note....This is posted so late cause Chris and I stay up pretty late these days watching the Mariner's games. And I have to say holy crap we just won our third game in a row. We have been sucking so bad this year, lets hope that maybe, just maybe this is the start of a much needed turn around.

Keeping With the 7-11 Theme...

It reminded me of the classic joke by Steven Wright:

"I wanted a late-night snack once so I went to a 7-11, but when I showed up, the manager was just locking the doors. Confused, I asked, "Aren't you guys open 24 hours?"

"Yeah, but not in a row."

Ha.
So when it's after midnight and you want a slurpee...where would you go? That's right, 7-11!! The place that never lets you down, the place that day or night is open to satisfy your need for slurpees. WELL, let me tell you on Saturday night the 7-11 I went to at 12:15am DID NOT satisfy that need. Can you believe it, it was CLOSED.......7-11 at midnight on a Saturday. What is the world coming too??

Wouldn't You Know It....

The sun came out today, and just as I got ready to head out and work in the garden and get the rest of my stuff planted it starts raining. Then the thunder and lightning started, go figure...a freaking thunderstorm. Is there going to be an end to this madness....grrrrr!!

Cliffhangers Suck.....

I am a huge fan of the show Alias, with any tv show it has had it's ups and downs. The first disappointment of this season came when the show did not start till January for various reasons. Then when it did start it got off to a really slow start and seemed not to live up to the other seasons. Let me tell you, last nights finale made up for all of it. It was insane, and now we all have three months to go over and over in our heads the last words of the episode..."my name isn't Michael Vaughn." Oh the questions......and the agony of having to wait 3 whole months before we get a new episode. Ah, but I shall survive, it gives us Alias fans something to look forward to.

On another note, it's still raining and it sucks, I still have not been able to finish my garden and it's getting frustrating. I don't think Belle enjoys this weather to much either, given that we have to drag her to the bathroom when it rains even a little. I am not sure if it's cause she is a wuss or cause she is just a little too prissy. lol. At any rate, the other night it was around 10 and the wind was blowing like crazy and the rain was really coming down and she HAD to go. I mean really, when she is pretty much standing in the living room prairie dogging and has the nasty gas to go along with it........but would she go....NO. Chris and I had to actually get all bundled up and drag her down the stairs and stand in the yard with her to try and get her to go for fear she would let loose in the house. But did she go then...NO! So we went back inside all 3 of us soaked. Finally about 10 minutes later she was asking to get out again, and Chris opened the door and pushed her down the stairs and she pooped alright, it may have been the fastest ever. I know you are all probably super excited to hear about my dogs bowel movements, but you know what....it's my blog. lol.

So anyways, here's to hoping things clear up for the long weekend.

I Wish the Sun Would Come Out

So the weather here has been extra CRAPPY lately. The last few days the wind has been blowing and the rain has been falling. Some of the guys Chris works with called him this morning wondering "why he brought this crappy Seattle weather?" I must agree, why does it seem we brought this crappy Seattle weather with us!?! Funny how we move here and they have the most snow on record in a long long time, and now we are having the coldest May on record in a long time.

All I know is this weather is starting to get to me, I have not yet been able to finish planting all my flowers and vegetables. Kinda hard to do so when its raining or super cold everyday. Hopefully by this weekend I will be able to get it all done.

We are supposed to be going camping this weekend as well, so I am crossing my fingers the weather clears up.

The Mouse That Won't Die

When we moved into our place our landlords had just had an exterminator come to the house. It is an older house and apparently there had been a mouse problem previously. So anyways it wasn't till few months ago that we found signs that we had a visitor, it wasn't much more than a simple mouse turd. So we informed our landlords and they had the exterminator come back and place more bait bags and blocks under the sinks and in the ceiling etc. So we figured this will get the little bugger. Well apparently not cause about 2 weeks later we had just gone to bed when we heard rustling and turned the light on just in time to see the little guy scurry away. But this was the last we heard or saw of it for a while. So we figured he ate some of the bait and was no longer. Well the last few days and nights we have heard it walking up in the ceiling, and this morning at like 5am we were awoken by not only his little feet moving around but also to loud squeaking. It was funny...Chris said "maybe he is squeaking in agony cause he ate some bait and is dying." And I said "yeah right, he is probably up there laughing at us saying....you can't kill me." Who knows, we tend to only here it at night or early morning, so we will see what happens later tonight.

"If mercy falls upon the broken and the poor, Dear Father I will see you there on distant shores."

This is from a song by a band that is no longer together Five Iron Frenzy. I was just listening to it and thought I would post it. I love the truth to it, I think too often we forget that we all fall into this category.

Waiting for the Sun...

Chris and I have been spending a lot of time getting our backyard cleaned up and getting the garden ready. Unfortunately everytime we want to spend the weekend in the yard planting and stuff it is raining. It is so frustrating, sure we could do it during the week but this weekend we had planned for it. We went out last night and got more flowers and vegetable seeds, and sure enough today it is cold and gloomy out and tomorrow is supposed to be the same.

Aside from the weather as of late not cooperating, I am super excited about my garden. I have never had my own garden before, I worked in a greenhouse for a long time and loved it but it's not the same as having a your OWN flowers etc.. I think I get my itch for gardening from my dad. He loves to have a big garden, especially veggies of all kinds. Plus why buy veggies every week when you can eat them for free from your own garden. Gardening is relaxing for me as well, it's a great time to be outside and be stress free and just enjoy it.

So anyways, here's to hoping this week and next weekend will be sunny and dry so we can spend some time out there.

Scotland

Just to fill you in on the pics below incase your wondering. Those are just some pics of Scotland I found on a website tonight. I wish I could say I was there and took the pics myself............they are incredible, I look through any pics of Scotland and I find them absolutely breathtaking. It makes me sit here and wonder why I am 27 years old and have never been back since we moved to Canada when I was 3. For those of you who didn't know, I was born there. My very obvious fear of flying has a lot to do with me never having gone back. But one day, hopefully one day soon. Chris and I would love to spend 2 or 3 weeks visiting and taking it all in. Anyways just thought I would share those pics;)

Random Thoughts.....

It's so weird, we have had this new computer for 2 days yet I have not really felt like I have had anything to blog about. Not sure why really, in a mental lull I guess. I am super excited about this new computer, I have really missed being able to spend time chatting with people back home. I felt so out of touch when I couldn't even email.

Boston is still wonderful, we really are loving it here. Of course there are times when we do miss being where everything is familiar to us. But at the same time that is the cool thing about us both coming to a new place together. See in Edmonton or Vancouver those places were really only familiar to me and the same with Chris and Seattle. I think the one thing I miss the most about Vancouver and Edmonton is the close friendships I had with my "girlfriends", those are hard to come by and so precious. We have met some wonderful people here though and we are so happy and so thankful for that.

I am not sure if I blogged about Chris's raise or not, but he got a raise last week. It was very unexpected and so awesome. Just one more thing to tell us we are in the right place in being here at this time in our lives. Anyways I am just rambling, LOL.....nothing specific to really say, just a ton of thoughts flying around at this absurd hour;) But hey, it's my blog I can say what I want.

On that note, I need to get some sleep.

I was just playing around with the paint shop on here, this is a pic of Chris and I from last summer at Alicia's wedding. Posted by Hello

Yes, I am still alive...

So anyways, I am still alive. Whenever I get onto the computer, at least until recently, it has always been at the library or at the shop at work. So I really don't have the time--actually, I rarely remember, which is the REAL truth--to post a blog. But now since we have our new 'puter, I'll try to write some stuff and be all witty and whatnot. Besides, I just usually blog about sports, and most of our readership--which is mostly Yvonne's friends and family--aren't necessarily sports fans.

So our Dell is pretty sweet--Dimension 3000--80 gig hard drive, 512 MB RAM, 2.66 Gig Intel Celeron Processor, 16x DVD-ROM drive, 48x CD-RW drive. Speakers and a 17" monitor as well. We also got 1 year warranty and tech support--all for $345. I was pretty pleased with the deal. I especially dig the DVD drive, especially if I can figure out how to burn them. I think you can, I am just not sure how yet. Unfortunately, AT&T doesn't currently have DSL in our area as of yet, so we have to suffer with dial-up connection for a while. But hey, it's better than nuthin'. So anyways, I'll be posting more regularly now, so all y'all better get used to it!

IT'S HERE!!!! HALLELUJAH

Today was a happy happy day, the UPS man is my favorite person EVER cause he brought me our pretty new computer a whole day early. I was so excited I wanted to do a jig, wanted being the key word there. LOL. Me doing a jig??? Not a pretty sight I would imagine. Anyway we got it all unpacked and hooked up and now I am finally blogging from my own house. Can you believe it!? No more running to the library to check email and stuff. It's weird though, it has been so long since I have been able to just sit here and write to my hearts content and at the moment I can think of nothing to say. HA! Go figure. Tomorrow I am sure I will enlighten you all with something though, so don't worry.

One More Thing........

I LOVE DELL!!!! They gave me a pretty computer for a super great deal.....388 bucks off the original price and FREE shipping. Here is the computer we got if your interested..

My Dog Has Blue Poop

So last night before we left for the game I left a blue pen on the top of Belle's kennel. Like a good dog, she managed to drop the pen down where she could reach it in the kennel and then proceeded to tear it apart leaving ink all over her pillow and blanket. After we came home we didn't notice right away, eventually Chris noticed the pillow and we found the remains of the mangled pen ALL over her kennel. So we cleaned it up and that was that. Later on Chris took Belle out to go to the bathroom and when she came back in and he was drying (it was raining) her off he noticed her front right paw was BLUE where it is normally white. Once again we thought her blue paw and now blue pillow was the end of it. Well little did we know that when she went out this morning we would get a special surprise. Sure enough when she pooped this morning she had 3 very nice and bright blue poops!!!! Moral of the story.....don't let your dogs eat pens;)

The Baseball Blues

So last night Chris and I made our first trip to Fenway Park here in Boston. We were very exited because the Boston Red Sox were playing our beloved Seattle Mariners. The game has been sold out for months so we ended up buying some great tickets on ebay. It was fun to go to a ballpark we have never been to, and a ballpark with a lot of history as well. Although as historical and old as it may be, it is nothing compared to Safeco Field, at least in my opinion. Unfortunately the Mariners continued to struggle BADLY as we got our kicked 7-2. It was a pathetic performance once again by our non existent offence. Regardless, we had a fun time. We had picture taken by this "fanfoto" thing, I am not sure how long they will be online but if you want go check it out. Click on May 6, and then Gallery 6 and our pic should be the first one.
