Top of the Hub

Chris and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary on Wednesday. We went for dinner to Top of the Hub which is the restaurant at the top of the Prudential Center here in Boston. I was nervous about going here for the simple reason I am terrified of heights, and this restaurant is at the very top--the 52nd floor--surrounded by glass windows. After a glass of champagne though, I relaxed and all was good. We had a table by the window and a bottle of champagne awaiting us at our table. It was the first time I had ever eaten in a really fancy place like that, so I was a little overwhelmed with the hostess when she was putting pulling my chair out, putting my napkin on my lap and our waitress pouring our champagne for us. The service was excellent, the food was even better and the views were amazing.
Chris had the 14 ounce sirloin with oxtail ragout and garlic mashed potatoes--and enjoyed every bite of it. I had the smoked chicken spaghettini that was excellent. Of course I took pictures of our food, at the price we paid I wanted pictures darn it.With Chris's nut allergy we were a little limited on what we could get for dessert. We ended up going with this Chai Lemon Pineapple cake with vanilla bean ice cream. It was YUMMY and we even got a candle for our anniversary. he he!
The views were amazing. My favorite had to be watching all the planes line up in the sky to land at the airport. I love watching planes. I hate being in them, but love to watch them...go figure. Throughout the evening I kept getting so excited seeing all the planes that at one point Chris said to me "I know where I am taking you for our anniversary next year." "Where?" I asked. "To the airport!!" he said. Funny guy;)We ended up moving over to the lounge area after supper to enjoy some of the live jazz they have. The band was really good. We capped the night off with a couple of drinks, and I of course had a martini and it was gooooooood!
