The Walking Injury

Let me preface this post by saying that everybody says I shouldn't play sports because I tend to hurt myself too much. They're probably right.

So last night was our seventh game in our softball season. Heading into it we sat at 5-1, in third place. The team we played was 6-0 and tied for first. Basically as Evey said, they were a bunch of loud-mouthed cocky guys from the Army, who CLEARLY could not deal with getting their arses kicked all over the field. We shellacked them 21-11. It wasn't even close.

Now comes the bad part....during the 3rd inning, I was playing third base. A ball was hit to my left and I moved laterally to get to it, and.....POP! The inside of my left knee popped. Bad. I wasn't one of those normal pops. The weird thing was when I moved to scoop the grounder, it wasn't a violent, quick move...I just kinda shuffled to my left. I felt to me like I tore my MCL (the inside tendon). Looking back on it now, I foolishly chose to keep playing--but I moved over to first base to limit my movements so I wouldn't hurt it more. So today is mostly laying on the couch, icing, relaxing and elevating. I am not sure yet if I want to go to the hospital...we'll see how it feels tomorrow.

I will miss our last game, and I most likely will miss the playoffs too. Which totally bums me out, because we are playing so well, and also because I enjoy playing with the team. Not to brag or anything, but I can play pretty well. So I guess we'll see what happens.

BRAG AWAY! lol. He really is good. Him and Troy make a habit of hitting the ball very far and very hard. And he plays some mean Defense....well at least he did. ;)

I ripped the outside tendon about two years ago and never went to the doc. My knee still has some numb spots (weird) but otherwise it works fine now.

I hope yours heals quickly!

If I recall, you broke your arm at winter weekend tubing or something. HAHA! You really should stay away from sports. If it makes you feel any better, I fell down the stairs at the mall in January and thought I sprained my ankel and was hopping around for days. I STILL have the bruise on my ankel so I am beginning to think it was much more than a sprain. Anyway - take care of yourself pooky!

Hey Tam, you didnt read the post very well cause Chris wrote it. lol. You actually think I am playing on a softball team. LOL....and Chris even talks about something I said in the post. AND at the bottom it says posted by Chris! hehe! But YES i broke my wrist tubing at Winter Weekend. That sucked, I was on a tube with Angela Martin and we fell off and she landed on my arm.
