So I had dinner with a friend tonight. With dinner I had a few beers and a glass of water. Well I did not go to the bathroom before I left and figured I would be good till I got home. So I went and got on the train and was happily on my way. I had to get off downtown to switch to a different train and it is then that I realized the predicament I was in. I had to pee and I had to pee bad. For the first time in my adult life I actually thought I was going to pee my pants and I was horrified. Instead of getting on my other train right away I decided to head up above ground and see if I could find something in the area. As I emerged from the train station I realized most things were closed. It was almost 10 pm after all. So I called Chris who used to work downtown figuring he might be familiar with the area. He knew there was a lot of bars and restaurants not far from where I was so sent me walking towards them. With each step I took I was more and more certain I was going to pee my pants. Finally I came across a Bertucci's and THANK GOD they let me use their bathroom. SWEET RELIEF! I am not sure I have felt that great in a long long long time.

Moral of the story....ALWAYS pee before you leave a restaurant. ESPECIALLY if you have had any beer.

OMG! I'm scared just reading that post! Maybe I'm riding-train-and-walking-around-at-night-on-the-streets-of-big-city-phobic. I don't know... Well, once you have kids, (or just pregnant)you get in the habit of "going potty" and making everyone else do the same, before you leave anywhere! Ha!

Downtown Boston or the train itself is not scary at night. Lots of people coming and going.

LOL!

I have been in that predicament a few times already.

And I agree with Andrea, once you have kids, going potty becomes routine before you leave any building.

Otherwise they do pee their pants or have to go when you are 15 minutes from a bathroom. ;)

That is too funny - it happened to me the other night on the way home from that Oceanside work party! (A 50 minute drive, mind you). After drinking probably about 4/5 a bottle of wine, I figured out I had to pee about 15-20 minutes into the drive, AND this was after we made a stop at a gas station to fill up (why couldn't I have realized it then!?)

So, every little bump or curve made it worse - at that point, it almost begins to hurt - you feel like you're going to BURST! As soon as I got home, I RAN (as fast as I could with legs slightly still together) to the RR and pee'd like I've never pee'd before. I totally know your pain... and RELIEF!

Sorry my comment is graphic and LONG, but I just had to let you know I was so in sync with you when I read you post. :)

LOL! I know Alicia with every step I took I was sure my bladder was just going to let go. lol. I was like I am going to be a 30 year old woman standing on the street corner in downtown Boston with wet pants. Hopefully we have both learned our lesson ;)

I am ALWAYS finding myself in the predicament of having to pee really badly. I had to go into a random hotel in Paris at about 12:30am and beg to use the bathroom. I would have had to find a dark corner and pee on the street if the hotel hadn't let me.

I know that feeling well and I'm glad you made it.
