Picture Perfect

I took the above picture a few years back while visiting Martha's Vineyard. I specifically remember seeing this dock and the sun setting over the water and immediately wanting to capture it.

I love to take pictures of all sorts of things but seem to always been drawn to scenes like the one above. Capturing a sunset over a body of water is simply put, breathtaking. I don't have the greatest camera, but that doesn't stop me. Perhaps investing in a really nice camera wouldn't be such a bad idea if satisfies my photography needs. I have often thought about taking a photography course. I would love to really learn my way around a camera. To be able to know the correct angles, how to use the light, shadows and so on.

For now this is just a hobby, but who knows what the future may hold.

Great pictures! I too would like to take a photography course, but alas not enough time.

I say go for it! In theory, I'd like to learn photography, but I invested in a good camera a year or two ago and 1. it annoys me because I don't have the patience to learn all the features so 2. I use my iPhone camera for the vast majority of my photo taking needs now.

I meant to add what camera do you have now because those look amazing to me! I thought we had bought a good camera and I can't make it take nice pictures.

Those have been taken with a few different ones. Most recently a Kodak Easy Share Z712 IS. It has a 12x zoom and is 7.1 mega pixels. It is quickly becomning outdated. I actually find that my cell phone takes amazing pics. If only it had zoom. The pic of the tree outside our bedroom window, and the leaf I took with me phone.
