I forgot to mention the other day that Chris and I got tickets to the baseball game tomorrow. The Seattle Mariners are in town playing the Boston Red Sox. We are so excited to have been able to get tickets to this game so we could see the M's.
Speaking of sports, I must say a big thank you to the Vancouver Canucks for being just a little more inconsistent and sucky than the Oilers were at times this year AND for helping us make the playoffs while you get to go golfing:)
Yesterday Chris and I were stopped at a red light. When our light turned green and had been so for a good 5 seconds or so Chris started to go, only to have to slam on his breaks for the 2 kids on bikes that decided not to see if there was a car coming but to go full speed ahead right in front of us. Luckily Chris saw them in time. Both of our hearts were in our throats. Never mind that he could have hit the first kid, but the other kid was going so fast he would have rode right into the side of Chris's van. SCARY! Stupid kids were laughing about it. Although I am sure that their hearts were also in their throats given that they came within a foot of being hit by a car.

Gracious! Parents need to teach their kids some lessons. Dad was driving on the road in Calgary and a kid flew out of nowhere on his skateboard - right into the side of dad's van. Dad had to replace the side mirror because of the damage this boy caused. And when his mother came to the scene, she was just strolling up the road in high heels. She didn't say much to the kid, but apologized to dad. Sheesh - be a parent for goodness sake!
It is scary when those things happen. Good thing you guys were 'on your game' and being a good defensive driver.
It is also scary when your kids dart out like that no matter how many times you tell them...sometimes I think they think they are invincible!
you know , they say pedestrians have the right of way. But some times people need to give the stupid ones a little wake up call. Good greaf.
I find it so frustrating when kids do stupid things like that. Good for you guys for keeping an eye out!
kids, what do they know. they way they take chances, surely we weren't like that when we were kids?
