Chris and I went to see V for Vendetta tonight which we both really enjoyed. I am glad we saw this one in theatres! I recommend this one, mostly because Natalie Portman is named EVEY in this movie. And we all know how awesome people with the name Evey are;)

Once Again....Movie Tuesday

Friday night Chris and I decided to stay home and watch a movie. We have had Million Dollar Baby sitting here for 2 months (netflix) and just haven't gotten around to watching it. I really don't know why it took us so long to watch it because it was a really really REALLY good movie. It was sad and I cried like a baby. Now I understand why it won the Oscar and why Hillary Swank won the Oscar last year. If you haven't seen it you most definitely should.
Saturday we decided to go back to Newport, Rhode Island for the day. When we went the first time we spent most of the day at Fort Adams State Park. This time we saw more of the ocean and the actual town. Newport is officially on my list of favorite places. I LOVE it there. We left here around 11:30 am and got down there right around 1pm. Which was totally perfect because it gave us plenty of daylight to do everything we wanted to. We went and parked along the "ocean drive" and walked and took lots of pictures. I love the ocean. We were going to have a picnic but it was so windy that we decided to eat in the back of Chris's van. Works for me, it wasn't windy and the seagulls didn't get all up in my business.
After we had lunch we continued on the "ocean drive" and saw all the beautiful houses right on the water. Then we headed into town where all their historical mansions and stuff are. We didn't get as many pictures of all the houses and stuff as we would have liked. Mostly because it was cold and we didn't want to get out and walk.
Once we headed back into the heart of Newport we found a place to park and of course got us some Starbucks. We decided to walk down the main street and check out all the little shops and stuff. We ended up going into Helly Hansen just to look around. When we got back to the shoe section we noticed a rack with a sign that said 75% off. Chris was very happy when he saw a nice pair of Adidas runners on that rack. A little fact about Chris--he will not by anything NOT Adidas, he is very picky in that way. Anyways he really needed a new pair of runners and so we got them. Regular 75 dollars and we got them for 18. Sweet!!
After that we pretty much headed home. We got home in time to have some dinner and then to watch the Oilers/Red wings game. Sunday morning I wasn't feeling to great so Chris went to church without me. When he got home we spent a nice day at home doing nothing. We did watch Star Wars Episode 3 in the afternoon.
Once again all the pictures we took on Saturday afternoon I have posted over on our picture blog so please go on over and have a look if you like.

Movie Tuesdays
We went to see Failure to Launch this week. It was actually a really good movie.....And no not just because Matthew McConaughey is gorgeous. Even Chris enjoyed it, there was a lot of comedy in it.
I posted previously about last Saturday when we went to Rhode Island for the day. I have posted all our pictures from that day over on our picture blog if you want to go check them out:)

This past Saturday Chris and I went to Newport, Rhode Island for the day. We actually chose the wrong day to go because there was some parade there that day and there was so many people everywhere. There was supposed to be a lighthouse at Fort Adams State Park so we headed there. I don't know where the lighthouse was but we most definitely didn't find it. We had a good time regardless. We parked the car and went for a really long walk all around the fort and stuff and took a ton of pictures.
I think we may go back this Saturday to the other side of town that is right on the ocean and take a ton more pictures.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!

IKEA
I love IKEA! Chris and I could spend hours on end there just walking around and looking at everything. I always love the fact that even when we don't have a lot of money to spend we can make off with a bunch of stuff. We spent under 20 dollars tonight and we got 2 sets of tupperware, coasters, spatula, salad spoon and fork, paper towel holder, 6 hook coat rack, 4 dish towels, 200 bendy straws, rug and a new frying pan. And because I am so awesome I even took pictures for you:) Oh and we each had a hot dog and a coke for 2 bucks. Now thats a cheap dinner!
Last weekend was much more busy. We had a marriage seminar at our church on Fri and Saturday which was really good. A couple from Texas came to do the seminar and he was a great speaker. They made off with some Red Sox hats as a thank you. The point was made that noone comes to Boston without becoming Sox fans, funny though that Chris and I have lived here for a year and a half and have more hatred for the Sox now than we did when we got here. We are proud that we haven't given in like everyone else and that we have stayed loyal to our teams back home.
Saturday night was our friend Carolynne's birthday party. Fun times. The cake was a mix of all this crazy stuff. I really wanted some but I was a good girl.
So that's that, hope everyone has a great Monday:)

Are these not adorable?!? Being that Chris and I are both huge hockey fans I had to buy these when we saw them in the grocery store the other day. There were 2 pairs in each pack and they were only 99 cents. They are too cute. Each has a pair of Boston Bruins socks and a pair of "original 6" socks. For those of you who don't know what Original 6 means it is just referring to the original 6 NHL teams. New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadians. Clearly since these are baby socks Chris and I won't be wearing them. And don't get any ideas in your little heads... We are NOTpregnant nor do we plan on being so for quite some time. They were just so cute I had to buy them.
On another note....The other night Chris and I were scrolling through our TV listings to see what movies were playing on Pay-Per-View. We always know when we have come to the end of the movies because you hit the channels like Playboy etc and then on into the Sports packages. We couldn't help but notice the name of a movie that had us laughing so hard we were in tears. "Chesty McHooters" was the name. Now tell me your not laughing out loud at this very moment.

Tales from the Laundromat
Chris and I have had many interesting trips to the laundromat we go to. Many times we vow never to go back to the same one and yet we do. I am not sure why...perhaps it is that the prices are good or perhaps it is that we are addicted to the entertainment that sometimes presents itself. Like the time the crazy dude tried to beat up the laundry bag vending machine or the time some guys dryer actually started on fire.Thursday night started out like every other night we go to the laundromat, full of possibilities and suspense. We decided that we only needed to do one load--but put it in the double-sized washer. Unfortunately, at our ghetto little laundromat, there are only two double washers--one was "out of order" and one was full of stuff. Well, crap. Ironically, right when we had loaded our stuff into a single washer, the lady came in and got her stuff out of the double. So thankfully, we got to use the double anyways. But that was only the beginning of the story...
We proceeded to take our things out of the single and into the now empty double washer. As our clothes were washing the lady and her daughter were now tending to the clothes in the dryers. When I say dryers I actually mean all TWELVE she was using. That's right, I said twelve. So you would think maybe she had lots of clothes to dry that night. As it turns out...not really. At one point she removed her stuff from the two dryers closest to where Chris and I were standing. Thinking she was now done with those dryers I had decided in my mind I would use those two. Just as quickly as I was thinking this to myself she came back to said dryers and in one of them took TWO towels and put them in, closed the door and popped in a quarter...
Like she was all OCD and stuff. It looked like she was trying to feel out the dryers and talk to them so that they could dry her stuff quicker. Much like this. So basically, we watched in horror as this lady took things out of one dryer, put them in another, then switched ALL of those things to yet ANOTHER dryer, while taking the original things out of that dryer and finding a different one. It eventually became comical, and we were just sitting in the corner waiting for our stuff to stop washing, snickering at the lady. I'm surprised she didn't hear us...and heck, maybe she did. Who cares. It was stinkin' hilarious.
All of that aside what else was annoying and yet humorous about this woman who I am guessing to be somewhere in her 40's was that she was dressed and acting like she was 16 or 17 years old. You know those moms who try to be cool like their daughters and act like them and be friends with them!?! Yet she wasn't cool and she looked ridiculous in the clothes she was wearing. She reminded me a lot of someone who smoked WAY too much pot when she was young.
So all in all, it was a very entertaining night at the laundromat.

Review Debut
First of all, we hope you like our new blog look for now--it took me forever to figure out the top picture and how to size it correctly.
Second--I was going to post about the Super Bowl, but I got depressed just thinking about how we should've won. Plus, I'm sure most of our blog readers either don't care or have gotten over it by now.
Thirdly--I have decided to start a restaurant review post. (Because I'm sure all of you want to listen to my rants as an unwarranted food critic.)
We visited Pizzeria Uno--Chicago Uno--Chicago Pizzeria Uno--Chicago Bar & Grill at Pizzeria Uno--Oriole Park at Camden Yards--uhh, whatever. (Officially its Uno Chicago Grill.)
Ambiance--quite nice. Kind of old-school Italian restaurant (with pasta boxes stacked along the walls) mixed with new-school (TV's hung from the ceiling in the aisles.) 8 of 10.
Service--Our waitress was very cordial, taking our drink orders and giving us plenty of time to decide what we wanted. It was our first time there. Our drinks were refilled promptly, and she offered us dessert, of which we partook (see below) 7.5 of 10.
Food--Evey ordered Chicken and Broccoli Fettucine with a side house salad, and I, being at a Pizzeria, decided to order their namesake--an individual Chicago deep-dish pizza. The salad came first--nothing too spectacular, but the croutons were very good. Our orders came out, and all of the sudden, my outlook changed. My pizza was tiny! Like slightly bigger than a microwave pizza. Evey looked at me and said, "Is that it?" Although it looked quite small, I quickly figured out that it was thick. Very thick. Hence "deep-dish." All in all, I wasn't very impressed, but it did manage to make a full meal. Evey's fettucine was HUGE. A big bowl, full of pasta, hunks of chicken and broccoli. The ratio of pasta to chicken (which is crucial in a dish like that) was very good. She got a lot of chicken, enough for a piece in every bite. Instantly I was jealous--looking at my ghetto pizza. 7 of 10.
Dessert--the dessert we got was the Deep-Dish Sundae--basically just a huge chocolate-chip cookie in a pan topped with ice-cream. Mmmm. The cookie was fresh and warm, and the ice cream was the perfect topper. 10 of 10.
Value--Average. For the amount of food we got, we paid about what you would expect. 6 of 10.
Recap:
Ambiance: 8
Service: 7.5
Food: 7
Dessert: 10
Value: 6
Total: 38.5 out of 50.
Lessons learned: Don't get pizza. Do get dessert.

Winter Wonderland
Saturday, February 11, 2006
It was a good night until..........
On another note we have a crazy storm headed our way tonight. There is not a drop of snow anywhere to be found right now, but I am sure when we wake up tomorrow morning we will be buried. We have barely had any snow all winter so this should be fun. I have a feeling we will be digging the car out tomorrow.

Here is our yard as of 5 mins ago. I will take a picture when I get up in the morning and post it.

Oh My Brittle Bones
Yesterday I took the train downtown to meet Chris around supper time. I met him at the Starbucks he was at on a job. When I got there I decided I needed to use the bathroom....As I was coming out of the bathroom I decided to turn the light off. I missed the first time so I stuck my hand back in to try again and unfortunately didn't get my hand back out in time and the nice BIG HEAVY door slammed itself on my hand. It was not pleasant. We went to the doctor and he told me I most likely fractured something. Lovely. And of course it has to be my left hand (I'm left handed). Oh well, it's not that bad...I can still do stuff with it I just have to be a little more careful than normal. It could be worse.....Like the time I was at a winter retreat at my church camp and I was tubing and proceeded to break my wrist in 3 places. Now THAT sucked. I am sure Lori remembers spending the day in the ER at the hospital in Red Deer with me. And I am sure Chrissy remembers giving me and Ange that push to get our tube going;) Fun times!
On a different note......Just before Christmas I broke our camera. We sent it into the Fuji repair (on warranty) about a month ago and finally got it back today. YAY!

Happy Birthday Austin

Ok so this post is a few days late, his birthday was actually on Wednesday the 8th. What is insane is that he is 7 years old. I remember the day he was born and I remember how excited I was to be an Auntie for the first time. He is a great kid and I miss him like crazy, he has always been my best little buddy. He has the flu right now so here's to hoping he feels 100% for his party on Sunday afternoon. Love ya b
uddy!!
The Grammys
ST and Project Runway. But I was lucky enough to catch U2 perform. For those of you who don't know, U2 is my favorite band. I have seen them live and it was the most amazing concert I have been to. They are such a great band to watch live. My favorite U2 song is One, which they ended up performing with Mary J. Blige. It was AMAZING! She really gets into it and her energy just made the song that much better. The other performance I happened to catch was Madonna at the beginning. It amazes me that at her age she can wear what she did and look good doing it. I am not normally a huge Madonna fan but I really enjoyed her last night.

More Random Ramblings
A few weeks ago Chris and I finally got a Costco membership. I am not sure really why it has taken us this long to go and get one. We are now officially Costco addicts and spend A LOT of time there. Some of the prices there AMAZE me. Take a 2 oz tube of Hydro-cortisone cream for example. At the grocery store, pharmacy, drugstore or wherever ONE generally costs anywhere from 3-4 dollars. We got a 4 pack of them for 6 dollars at Costco. I could go on all day about the savings we have gotten there in the short time we have had this membership but I won't cause I think you get the idea. Moral of the story.....I LOVE COSTCO!!!
Last week as Chris and I were heading out somewhere we noticed a rather large rock looking thing in our yard. At first glance that is all I thought it was-a rock. At second glance it looked more to me like one of those fake turtle ornaments for your garden or whatever. Upon closer examination we both realized it was not a rock or a fake turtle but in fact a real turtle who happened to have met it's demise on our lawn.
Now the first thought we both had was where in the heck would a turtle this size have come from. Our landlords son claimed they lived around here and in Jamaica pond. Chris and I both know that was not possible considering how far Jamaica pond is from us it would have taken a turtle FOREVER to walk that far. Turns out it belonged to the people who live 4 doors down. Our landlord told us they "lost" a turtle about 2 months ago. HOW DO YOU LOSE A TURTLE??????? It's not like if you open the door it can run away, I am pretty sure you would notice. Knowing how they are though, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. And don't worry, Chris gave it a proper burial in our garbage can;)
Hope everyone is having a good week
Evey

Random Thoughts
Last Friday Chris and I decided to go to the driving range so I could test out my new clubs and work on my swing. As we were driving there this car was tailing Chris and then proceeded to cut us off. When we ended up driving alongside this car he was staring at us and Chris muttered something at the guy. As we approached the red light in front of us this car slowed down to pull up level with us and his window started to come down. Now I know it is so stereotypical but in that moment both Chris and I felt our hearts beat a little faster. Say what you will, but if you just gave some BIG black dude with tinted windows a dirty look you would have been scared too. But as his window opened more we saw he was smiling. Once we were both stopped he was like "What Starbucks do you work at? I'm Starbucks too." Not only did we realize he worked at Starbucks and that was why he was staring at us in the first place cause he saw the writing on the van and was trying to see if he knew Chris, but the minute he started talking you knew he was gay. Here we thought this dude was gonna pop some bullets in us and he was just some bug cuddly gay dude who works at Starbucks.
The range we went to was kinda out there a bit in the trees. As we were hitting balls we heard a coyote howling at the moon. We realized the howls sounded pretty close and sure enough sitting way out on the other end of the driving range was a coyote a howling away. At first I was a little frightened, afraid he would make a beeline for me if I hit a ball in his direction. But then I realized a couple of things...The first being that I could never hit the ball that far and the other that he would never be that brave. So we went about hitting golf balls and he just sat and howled.
On the way home we decided to get some dinner. So we headed to a restaurant called 99. We decided to have s
ome nachos as an appetizer, when they were brought to us I was convinced that the person bringing them was Justin Guarini from the first season of American Idol. I know it wasn't, but there is still a part of me who is convinced it couldn't have been anyone else. And then as we were eating I heard the oddest thing.....Tiffany blaring out of the radio. Now don't get me wrong, when I was 9 years old in 1987 and Tiffany released her first album I loved her and sang in my living room with my hairbrush to all her hits just like everyone else. But that was a very very long time ago and I cannot recall the last time I heard a Tiffany song playing anywhere. It took me by surprise and I thought you should know about it.

My Wife, the Sports Nut
Luckily for me, this love for hockey spills over into other sports too. As you can attest by the new look to our blog, she has become a rabid Seattle Seahawks fan, although it took her a while to warm up to them--which is understandable--coming from Canada, they've only got the Canadian Football League, which, although it is a fun game to watch, is no match for the NFL. We are both SUPER pumped for the NFC Championship Game on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. GO HAWKS!
Along with a different type of football, she was exposed to absolutely zero baseball growing up, so therefore she was NEVER into it. When we first met, she vowed to me that she would rather gouge both eyes out and pour saltwater into them rather than sit down in front of the TV and take in a 3-hour baseball game. And then, she met my mom. Now, my mom is not off-the-walls crazy for the Seattle Mariners, but her love for them is strong--strong enough to pull Evey in like the tractor beam in Star Wars--and make her learn the game and become a fan. My mom taught her the nuiances of the game--when to hit and run, the art of pitching, who the cutoff man is, etc. Now, my wife must watch the Mariners nightly--so much so that we usually buy the Dish Network's MLB Package to catch every M's game while we are here in Boston.
Other sports that she enjoys to watch--golf (you can chalk that one up to my man-crush on Phil Mickelson.) She called me at work on a Saturday a couple of years ago when I was still working weekends in Seattle to tell me, "I can't believe this, but I've been watching golf for three hours. What is wrong with me?" I just laughed and smiled inside, knowing that if Phil was ever in contention to win a tournament, I could plop my lazy butt on the couch and watch golf until the cows came home. She likes watching the major tournaments like the Masters and the US Open.
Now, the only sport I have to work on with her is soccer. She was very interested in the World Cup back in 2002 when the US team made the quarterfinals, but since then, she has regressed. Hopefully later this year when the 2006 World Cup starts, I'll get her loving Sam's Army again!
Chris went over to hang out with Troy and Travis while us girls were gone. Amy and Troy just got a new puppy over Christmas, she is a cocker spaniel, her name is Nettie and she is SO cute. Our other friend Kirsten just got a 7 week old Chocolate Lab on Sunday who is also SO cute. So she brought Jackson over so that Chris, Troy and Travis could babysit. Apparently him and Nettie played and wrestled ALL night. How cute...sometimes it makes me sad we didn't have Belle when she was just a little puppy, but then I remember we also didn't have to clean up all her little accidents and I don't feel so sad anymore.

"The first player of this game starts with the topic Five Weird Habits of yourself and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits, as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals."
1. I must ALWAYS have a full glass of water next to the bed. I rarely drink it, but I cannot settle in unless I know its there just incase I need it.
2. My towels have to be folded a certain way, if Chris folds them and they are not that way I will unfold them and redo it.
3. When I walk Belle I go out of my way to make sure she doesn't step on the utility covers on the sidewalk for fear she will get shocked and die. I know that makes me sound crazy but there have been 2 dogs electrocuted in Boston in the last few months from those very things.
4. I have to wear my Seahawks socks whenever they play because I am convinced they will lose if I don't. Tell me I am crazy...but I wore them every Sunday for 11 weeks and we won all those games. Our last game of the season I didn't wear them and we lost.
5. Every night before I go to bed I check the locks on the door and the stove like 5 times to make sure it is all off otherwise I cant sleep.
So there you have it, call me crazy if you want!!
I am not sure who has been tagged or not already so lets go with... Leslie, Tammy, Shelley, True and Lucy.
Happy Monday
As unexciting as this post may be it's all I have this morning. Perhaps I am not awake enough yet to think of anything witty and interesting.Hope everyone has a great Monday.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!
As for my mouth...I feel 100% better. Still have a few more things to get taken care of but otherwise all is well. I am actually going to go in today to see if they can take my stitches out. They are the kind that just go away on their own, but they are all coming loose and I am sick of feeling like I am eating string.
On to much more important things....today is a important day in our house. The Seattle Seahawks play the Washington Redskins at 4:30 pm. The NFL playoffs started last week but since the Hawks are so friggin awesome we had a first round bye and we have home field advantage throughout. Now one thing you must realize is that the Seahawks have not won a playoff game since 1984, the longest playoff drought in NFL history......that's a LONG time. Since I have been a Hawks fan it has been a little painful during playoff time. You see my first year (2002) being a Hawks fan they missed the playoffs and finished the season with a 7-9 record. The next year (2003) was better in the sense we made the playoffs. We played the Green Bay Packers in the NFC wild card game. The game went to overtime and the Hawks won the coin toss. So when the referee said to our quarterback "you have won the coin toss what would you like to do?" Matt Hasselbeck answered with "we want the ball and we're going to score" Well instead of scoring he threw an interception and Green Bay returned it for a touchdown. And so the drought continued. Then came 2004 which came another playoff loss. The game came down to the last seconds with us trying to throw for a touchdown to tie the game. Hasselbeck fired the ball into the middle of the end zone and Bobby Engram just let it slip through his hands. And so it continued.
But this year is different. It is different in so many ways. The Seahawks are a better team than they have been in a long time. Our offense is better, our defense is better. We won our division and we had the best record in the NFC. We finished this season with a 13-3 record tied for second best in the NFL. Our running back Shaun Alexander won the NFL rushing title, the NFL MVP award AND he broke the NFL record for most touchdowns in a season by a running back. He scored 28 touchdowns this season. We are have won many games this year that in any other season we would have lost. We went undefeated at home this year. That is probably largely due to the fact of crowd noise. Seattle is easily one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. In fact when the New York Giants were in Seattle our crowd noise helped the Giants commit 11 false start penalties, the most in their teams history in one game.

All that to say GO HAWKS! We SHOULD win this game today...everyone is picking us as the winner. And with the likes of Matt Hasselbeck (8), Shaun Alexander (37), Walter Jones (71) and Darrell Jackson (82) we hope and pray the drought is over and that next week we will be watching the Hawks play at home in the NFC championship.
**UPDATE**
The Seahawks beat the Redskins 20-10. GO HAWKS!!!!

Things I shouldn't like...yet I do
Sports. I like sports. I don't like all sports, but I pretty much enjoy the vast majority. I like this sport. This as well. And this one. And this one. This one too. But this sport is an example of one I do not like.
Food. I enjoy food. Some people might say that I enjoy it a little too much. I love this food. And this one. But this is nasty.
Beer. I like beer. I like different types of beer. I enjoy this beer. And this beer. But not this one. Along with that, wine is a favorite of mine as well. Especially this kind.
Now, there are things that I like--being a heterosexual guy--that you wouldn't normally think a guy would like. Like Project Runway. Project Runway is a reality show on Bravo that follows budding fashion designers as they go through challenges and make clothes to win the show and become famous. Each designer gets to pick a model that they use for their creations throughout the show. Heidi Klum is the host, and she makes the call on who is in...or out.
Basically, there is really no logical reason why I should like this show. It's full of eccentric female designers, gay male designers, gay eccentric she-male desgners, and frighteningly thin models. I just can't turn away! I don't know why, but its interesting to me how these people come up with these designs. Having Heidi Klum as the host definitely doesn't hurt things, but I'm not a fashion designer, nor do I ever plan to be. I'm not into high fashion, as my closet can attest. It's just one of those things, I guess.

Christmas Recap
On Christmas Eve, we decided to stay home--not because we're lame, (some may argue that) but because most of our church friends went home for the holidays. We first had our own turkey dinner, with all of the trimmings--stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc. It was very good food, and although I didn't eat too much to make myself sick like last year, I still achieved a food coma, which around the holidays, isn't too difficult to do. After our spread, we decided to watch a movie--Polar Express. A very good holiday movie, but it doesn't hold a candle to the best Christmas movie ever made. Our plans for Christmas day were to go over to the Stumps--pretty much the only family from church that decided to stay home. We finally went to sleep...
...with dreams of sugar-plum fairies dancing in our heads...
And Christmas Day arrived. We woke up at 7 AM--let me rephrase that--Evey woke up at 7 AM to proclaim, "I'm opening my stocking!" Me, in my half-asleep/half-awake state had to take a minute to wake up and realize that it was actually Christmas morning! Once the frenzy commenced, it was not unlike the scene from Christmas Story--wrapping paper flying everywhere, my dog freaking out, and all of us delighting in our gifts from everyone. My main gift to Evey (along with an Old Navy wool coat and pajamas) was a starter's set of golf clubs including the bag and head covers.

Evey's main gift to me (along with a new wallet and leatherman tool) was a Seattle Seahawks jersey with Walter Jones name and number 71 on it. Money.

(Sorry for the poor quality of these pics. Our main digital camera is in for repairs, and these were taken with the backup. But that is another blog for another time...)
So after we opened all of our gifts and consumed copious amounts of candy for 9 AM, we had to start making dessert for our dinner at the Stumps. We decided to make Hot Fudge Cake and Apple Crisp--both Banquet Dessert Bakes. If you haven't tried them yet, they are surprisingly good, and very easy to make. Which I think is the point. Even I can make them, which is saying something.
Off to the Stumps we went. Connie and Mark were nice enough to take us in for the day and feed us. They made a sumptuous pot roast--y'know, the kind that falls apart when you touch it. Mmmmm. There were potatoes, carrots, corn, jello salad, and of course, our desserts rounded out the feast. The Stumps have 3 kids--David (6), Elizabeth (4), and Emma (20 months) who are all very cute and very well-behaved. After dinner, we decided to do--what else? Board games! Scrabble was first, and lately I have struggled. The whole time we were playing, David was putting together his new Rokenbok Construction set which Santa brought him. A very cool toy for his age. Man, if I had these kinds of toys I probably would've become some kind of engineer or something. Instead I had this and this, but at least I had this. But I digress. After getting thoroughly smoked in Scrabble (I had the words, just not the letters) I decided to regain my dignity by teaming up with Evey and taking the Stumps on in a little thing I like to call--Trivial Pursuit.
Now, normally, Evey dislikes playing this game with me, basically because I know things that no mortal should know--except for the sole purpose of winning this game. But this time she decided to play, I think because she was on my side. She performed like a champ though, answering at least 5 or 6 questions correctly! Example: "What NCAA men's college basketball team has won the most national championship tournament games?" Evey answered correctly: Kentucky. Which blew me away, because I thought she answered due to her knowing that Kentucky was a good team--but really, her answer came from the fact that Ashley Judd is such a big fan of the team. But heck, she got it right anyways. We ended up winning the marathon game, although we almost lost our big lead.
So all in all, it was a great Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We had a turkey dinner, a pot roast dinner, gifts, games, and a whole lotta holiday spirit. A Merry belated Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Happy New Year
That is all for now, perhaps I can talk Chris into blogging a little about our Christmas, and if not you will just have to wait till I feel like sitting here long enough to tell you about it:)
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season and heres to a very very happy 2006!!!
