Cliffhangers Suck.....

I am a huge fan of the show Alias, with any tv show it has had it's ups and downs. The first disappointment of this season came when the show did not start till January for various reasons. Then when it did start it got off to a really slow start and seemed not to live up to the other seasons. Let me tell you, last nights finale made up for all of it. It was insane, and now we all have three months to go over and over in our heads the last words of the episode..."my name isn't Michael Vaughn." Oh the questions......and the agony of having to wait 3 whole months before we get a new episode. Ah, but I shall survive, it gives us Alias fans something to look forward to.

On another note, it's still raining and it sucks, I still have not been able to finish my garden and it's getting frustrating. I don't think Belle enjoys this weather to much either, given that we have to drag her to the bathroom when it rains even a little. I am not sure if it's cause she is a wuss or cause she is just a little too prissy. lol. At any rate, the other night it was around 10 and the wind was blowing like crazy and the rain was really coming down and she HAD to go. I mean really, when she is pretty much standing in the living room prairie dogging and has the nasty gas to go along with it........but would she go....NO. Chris and I had to actually get all bundled up and drag her down the stairs and stand in the yard with her to try and get her to go for fear she would let loose in the house. But did she go then...NO! So we went back inside all 3 of us soaked. Finally about 10 minutes later she was asking to get out again, and Chris opened the door and pushed her down the stairs and she pooped alright, it may have been the fastest ever. I know you are all probably super excited to hear about my dogs bowel movements, but you know what....it's my blog. lol.

So anyways, here's to hoping things clear up for the long weekend.

I Wish the Sun Would Come Out

So the weather here has been extra CRAPPY lately. The last few days the wind has been blowing and the rain has been falling. Some of the guys Chris works with called him this morning wondering "why he brought this crappy Seattle weather?" I must agree, why does it seem we brought this crappy Seattle weather with us!?! Funny how we move here and they have the most snow on record in a long long time, and now we are having the coldest May on record in a long time.

All I know is this weather is starting to get to me, I have not yet been able to finish planting all my flowers and vegetables. Kinda hard to do so when its raining or super cold everyday. Hopefully by this weekend I will be able to get it all done.

We are supposed to be going camping this weekend as well, so I am crossing my fingers the weather clears up.

The Mouse That Won't Die

When we moved into our place our landlords had just had an exterminator come to the house. It is an older house and apparently there had been a mouse problem previously. So anyways it wasn't till few months ago that we found signs that we had a visitor, it wasn't much more than a simple mouse turd. So we informed our landlords and they had the exterminator come back and place more bait bags and blocks under the sinks and in the ceiling etc. So we figured this will get the little bugger. Well apparently not cause about 2 weeks later we had just gone to bed when we heard rustling and turned the light on just in time to see the little guy scurry away. But this was the last we heard or saw of it for a while. So we figured he ate some of the bait and was no longer. Well the last few days and nights we have heard it walking up in the ceiling, and this morning at like 5am we were awoken by not only his little feet moving around but also to loud squeaking. It was funny...Chris said "maybe he is squeaking in agony cause he ate some bait and is dying." And I said "yeah right, he is probably up there laughing at us saying....you can't kill me." Who knows, we tend to only here it at night or early morning, so we will see what happens later tonight.

"If mercy falls upon the broken and the poor, Dear Father I will see you there on distant shores."

This is from a song by a band that is no longer together Five Iron Frenzy. I was just listening to it and thought I would post it. I love the truth to it, I think too often we forget that we all fall into this category.

Waiting for the Sun...

Chris and I have been spending a lot of time getting our backyard cleaned up and getting the garden ready. Unfortunately everytime we want to spend the weekend in the yard planting and stuff it is raining. It is so frustrating, sure we could do it during the week but this weekend we had planned for it. We went out last night and got more flowers and vegetable seeds, and sure enough today it is cold and gloomy out and tomorrow is supposed to be the same.

Aside from the weather as of late not cooperating, I am super excited about my garden. I have never had my own garden before, I worked in a greenhouse for a long time and loved it but it's not the same as having a your OWN flowers etc.. I think I get my itch for gardening from my dad. He loves to have a big garden, especially veggies of all kinds. Plus why buy veggies every week when you can eat them for free from your own garden. Gardening is relaxing for me as well, it's a great time to be outside and be stress free and just enjoy it.

So anyways, here's to hoping this week and next weekend will be sunny and dry so we can spend some time out there.

Scotland

Just to fill you in on the pics below incase your wondering. Those are just some pics of Scotland I found on a website tonight. I wish I could say I was there and took the pics myself............they are incredible, I look through any pics of Scotland and I find them absolutely breathtaking. It makes me sit here and wonder why I am 27 years old and have never been back since we moved to Canada when I was 3. For those of you who didn't know, I was born there. My very obvious fear of flying has a lot to do with me never having gone back. But one day, hopefully one day soon. Chris and I would love to spend 2 or 3 weeks visiting and taking it all in. Anyways just thought I would share those pics;)

Random Thoughts.....

It's so weird, we have had this new computer for 2 days yet I have not really felt like I have had anything to blog about. Not sure why really, in a mental lull I guess. I am super excited about this new computer, I have really missed being able to spend time chatting with people back home. I felt so out of touch when I couldn't even email.

Boston is still wonderful, we really are loving it here. Of course there are times when we do miss being where everything is familiar to us. But at the same time that is the cool thing about us both coming to a new place together. See in Edmonton or Vancouver those places were really only familiar to me and the same with Chris and Seattle. I think the one thing I miss the most about Vancouver and Edmonton is the close friendships I had with my "girlfriends", those are hard to come by and so precious. We have met some wonderful people here though and we are so happy and so thankful for that.

I am not sure if I blogged about Chris's raise or not, but he got a raise last week. It was very unexpected and so awesome. Just one more thing to tell us we are in the right place in being here at this time in our lives. Anyways I am just rambling, LOL.....nothing specific to really say, just a ton of thoughts flying around at this absurd hour;) But hey, it's my blog I can say what I want.

On that note, I need to get some sleep.

I was just playing around with the paint shop on here, this is a pic of Chris and I from last summer at Alicia's wedding. Posted by Hello

Yes, I am still alive...

So anyways, I am still alive. Whenever I get onto the computer, at least until recently, it has always been at the library or at the shop at work. So I really don't have the time--actually, I rarely remember, which is the REAL truth--to post a blog. But now since we have our new 'puter, I'll try to write some stuff and be all witty and whatnot. Besides, I just usually blog about sports, and most of our readership--which is mostly Yvonne's friends and family--aren't necessarily sports fans.

So our Dell is pretty sweet--Dimension 3000--80 gig hard drive, 512 MB RAM, 2.66 Gig Intel Celeron Processor, 16x DVD-ROM drive, 48x CD-RW drive. Speakers and a 17" monitor as well. We also got 1 year warranty and tech support--all for $345. I was pretty pleased with the deal. I especially dig the DVD drive, especially if I can figure out how to burn them. I think you can, I am just not sure how yet. Unfortunately, AT&T doesn't currently have DSL in our area as of yet, so we have to suffer with dial-up connection for a while. But hey, it's better than nuthin'. So anyways, I'll be posting more regularly now, so all y'all better get used to it!

IT'S HERE!!!! HALLELUJAH

Today was a happy happy day, the UPS man is my favorite person EVER cause he brought me our pretty new computer a whole day early. I was so excited I wanted to do a jig, wanted being the key word there. LOL. Me doing a jig??? Not a pretty sight I would imagine. Anyway we got it all unpacked and hooked up and now I am finally blogging from my own house. Can you believe it!? No more running to the library to check email and stuff. It's weird though, it has been so long since I have been able to just sit here and write to my hearts content and at the moment I can think of nothing to say. HA! Go figure. Tomorrow I am sure I will enlighten you all with something though, so don't worry.

One More Thing........

I LOVE DELL!!!! They gave me a pretty computer for a super great deal.....388 bucks off the original price and FREE shipping. Here is the computer we got if your interested..

My Dog Has Blue Poop

So last night before we left for the game I left a blue pen on the top of Belle's kennel. Like a good dog, she managed to drop the pen down where she could reach it in the kennel and then proceeded to tear it apart leaving ink all over her pillow and blanket. After we came home we didn't notice right away, eventually Chris noticed the pillow and we found the remains of the mangled pen ALL over her kennel. So we cleaned it up and that was that. Later on Chris took Belle out to go to the bathroom and when she came back in and he was drying (it was raining) her off he noticed her front right paw was BLUE where it is normally white. Once again we thought her blue paw and now blue pillow was the end of it. Well little did we know that when she went out this morning we would get a special surprise. Sure enough when she pooped this morning she had 3 very nice and bright blue poops!!!! Moral of the story.....don't let your dogs eat pens;)

The Baseball Blues

So last night Chris and I made our first trip to Fenway Park here in Boston. We were very exited because the Boston Red Sox were playing our beloved Seattle Mariners. The game has been sold out for months so we ended up buying some great tickets on ebay. It was fun to go to a ballpark we have never been to, and a ballpark with a lot of history as well. Although as historical and old as it may be, it is nothing compared to Safeco Field, at least in my opinion. Unfortunately the Mariners continued to struggle BADLY as we got our kicked 7-2. It was a pathetic performance once again by our non existent offence. Regardless, we had a fun time. We had picture taken by this "fanfoto" thing, I am not sure how long they will be online but if you want go check it out. Click on May 6, and then Gallery 6 and our pic should be the first one.

No Skunk For Me Thanks

The other evening Chris and I were out walking Belle, we were chatting away and Belle was busy sniffing everything and anything she could. Now it was already dark outside so when we saw this small something or other in a yard right beside us we weren't sure at first as to what it was. Belle made a dart for this furry critter just as Chris said "oh #&!*", then I noticed for myself that what was staring at us from mere inches away was a SKUNK!!!!!!!!!!!! I then added my own "oh *!#&"! Now please imagine Chris and I running off down the street, hauling Belle behind us laughing as we went.

Excuse Me Sir, But Your Dryer is on Fire

Ok so I had to get to a computer to post about this. The other night Chris and I went to the same Laundromat we always go to to do our laundry. It was busier than usual, probably due to the fact we were there at 5pm instead of 8pm. Anyways so we proceed to put three loads in the washers only to quickly be frustrated by the fact one of them wasn't working after we already put our money in. So I pulled all the clothes out and put them into another. Once the washers were done Chris and I proceeded to put our laundry in the dryers as we always do. Now normally we put enough quarters in for the dryers to go for around an hour and then we leave and go to Starbucks or something while we wait for our clothes to dry. But not this day, we decided to just hang around and wait this time. And good thing to, cause not even 5 minutes after we put the clothes in the dryers this other guy checks one of his dryers right above one of ours cause he smells something funny. And sure enough when he opens it there is smoke coming out, so very quickly he grabs all his clothes out and luckily none of them had caught fire. So as he is peering into his dryer Chris and I joined him and saw lovely flames growing behind the dryer where the lint traps are. Now ironically there was no fire extinguisher, I am still baffled by this. Its a Laundromat full of HOT industrial dryers and you have no means of putting out even the smallest of fires. So anyways Chris and I then very quickly pulled our wet clothes out of our dryers and took them to the car. Chris called 911 and the number on the wall for the owner of the place. We all gathered to watch the fireman show up and put out the flamage as well as make big holes in the wall and ceiling and rip the whole front of the dryer off. We laughed, cause in a way maybe it was a good way to tell Mr. Laundromat Man they should clean their lint traps once in a while. So it was annoying cause we had to take our wet clothes to another Laundromat to have them dried. But entertaining regardless.

What did I learn from all this.....well I learned that I will NEVER go back to that Laundromat and I also learned that I will NEVER leave my clothes in the dryer and go to Starbucks for coffee. LOL.

That is all:) Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Happy Almost Easter!

I promised that I would try and blog at least once week, so here ya go.....

Last weekend Chris and I drove out to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to meet up with his mom and her friend Sue. Linda was in Ohio visiting Sue and we thought it would be fun to meet them somewhere. We picked Wilkes-Barre cause it seemed to be close to being in the middle of Youngstown, Ohio and Boston. Which it pretty much turned out to be...a five hour drive for them and 4 1/2 for us. We spent the night there and spent most of Friday and then Saturday morning with them. We had a wonderful visit, it was nice to just spend some time relaxing together. On the way home Chris and I made a stop in Manchester, Connecticut to have some supper at Red Robin. YUM! We love Red Robin and they don't have them here in MA.

I was supposed to go to the dentist today to have one of my bad molars pulled, but the oral surgeon didn't make it into work today. Part of me was relieved cause I am so scared to go anyways, but then the other part was frustrated cause I just want it over with. Anyway, they rescheduled my appointment for April 4th. So now I have a whole week to get myself all worked up about it. I really am just a big ol' chicken.

Anyways things are still good out here for us, we love it here. The new church is wonderful, Chris is actually getting busy getting everything in order for the mens softball team he has gotten together at church. They will be playing in on of the city leagues. He is pretty excited about that.

That is all, nothing else exciting going on around here. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week. And hey, please feel free to post comments...it's always nice to hear from people.

Happy Easter!!!

The Dentist

I know I know......FINALLY!!! That is what you are all saying, I can almost hear you.... I really need to try and post at least once a week until we once again have a running computer.

I feel the need to tell you all that I am a HUGE wuss and terrified of the dentist. I am sure I am not the only one, it is a common fear in many people. Anyways I had to go to the dentist today...to make a long story short I cracked some teeth like 3 years ago and never got them dealt with, so now I need to have my back molar on the left and the right pulled. As well as a root canal on another. LOVELY!!!! I suppose it isn't so bad, I go back tomorrow for my cleaning and then the 24th for the first tooth and then a week later for the second tooth. Then probably back in for the root canal shortly thereafter. The good news is the dentist said after all is said and done I should be good to go. Which makes me happy, cause well no offense to him but I HATE the dentist. lol.

Anywho, things are good. Chris and I are still going to Hope Fellowship and still loving it. We have gotten to know a lot of people and are making new friends. It took a while to find this church, but I am certain it was worth it and I am certain we will be regulars there for quite some time.

I guess that is all for now, hope everyone is doing well. Oh and Happy Birthday Bryan if you ever read this! lol.

That is all..........

CHRIS POSTED......HOORAY!!!

Well well....looks like my other half realized he can type;) See now wasn't that a nice surprise for everyone. Something different than little old me rambling on and on and on.....

While we are on the topic of Napoleon Dynamite....Lori, you were right...you either love it or you hate it. And I loved it, sure it was super stupid and pointless but that is why it was funny.

That is all I have for today....no complaining, you just had a nice long post from Chris. We can't give you too much in one day now can we. I promise though to TRY and be back tomorrow with more exciting stories for you all.

Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Yes, I can be a contributing member...

Hello all, I haven't got around to posting in quite a bit lately, mostly because there is not much going on in my half of the "Adventures." We did get to watch Napoleon Dynamite last weekend after much waiting due to Netflix being mega-slow (and apparently buying 4 copies of the movie for all of Eastern Massachusetts.) I thought it was quite funny most of the time..."I'll do whatever I feel like doing...GOSH!" But it also dragged in a couple of spots, which all movies do anyways. The dancing scene is classic, as is the extra wedding scene at the end. Kip is great, but I think I rolled the most when Napoleon tried Uncle Rico's "time machine" that he bought off the internet. Money.

Anyways, I am just working a lot, today I had 4 different service calls all about the city. Usually a "busy" day is 2 or so. I think I am drinking to much espresso. I tend to get a drink after every service call I do (either a caramel macchiato, peppermint mocha, or gingerbread latte) and of course they are all free, so why not, right? But later on in the day I get all hyper, but then I crash when I get home. I just want to lay on the futon and watch TV. (I think that even BEFORE the job with Starbucks, I would prefer to lay down and watch TV...) But I think I need to curb my espresso habit to 1 or 2 drinks per day, and only in the morning/noon time.

No hockey sucks. I can only take so much NBA (of which I am sick of and have not watched since about week 3 of the season), and golf is only on during the weekends. Which leaves nothing. No sports events to look forward to, not until baseball starts and I can stay up until 10 PM just to watch the Mariners for a couple of innings before I fall asleep. Lovely. The Hawks have retained their Big Three, which I never thought they'd be able to do, but hey, I guess a franchise that hasn't won a playoff game since 1893 (No that is NOT a typo) has to start somewhere. Phil has been playing well to start the year, winning the last 2 tourneys, which has been great to watch. Hopefully he can ride that wave into the Masters and defend his title. Other than baseball, the Masters is something I am really looking forward to. Anyways, I suppose I should wrap this up. Besides, my fingers hurt.

Yes we are still alive...but our computer is not. I think that it has finally gone up to the little computer heaven in the sky. So for now I will have to try my best to update this once or twice a week. And like I always say....if you are looking for excitement Lori's blog is a great place for such things;)

Anyways things are about the same around here. Church is good, we went to "married couples night" the other night and had a great time and met a bunch of new people.

I am still counting down the days till our trip, I am soooooo excited.

That is all.......;)

Dinner and a Movie

WOW, two days in row...can you believe your eyes?!? I almost can't. I will be so happy once we have a working computer, one that I can turn on and check my email without having to wonder if the computer will freeze, or even load for that matter. Although, we do choose to suffer since we are saving every penny for our trip. Soon enough though, we do have some things in the works to get this thing running smoothly again. Anyways.....

Last night Chris and I had a wonderful evening together. As I mentioned yesterday we went to see Shakespeare in Love downtown Boston at The Wang Theatre. It was so fun, the movie was GREAT! We had never seen it and I am not sure why because it was so good. Now I understand why it won so many academy awards in '98. The theatre itself is incredible. It seats like 3000 and is absolutely beautiful. I must point out that it is not a movie theatre, it is actually a performing arts center. The cool thing is we found out last night that they actually have "Movie Mondays" once a month and it is always free. How cool is that!? Anyways check out the website and look at "panoramic view" to see the inside of the theatre. After the movie we went for a late dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery right across the street. It was so good, and what could have been an expensive "date" turned out to be a $23 dollar night including tip. Can't complain about that....dinner and a movie for under 25 bucks.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Everyone should be happy (especially Lori) that not only am I posting today, but I also posted a ton of pictures for your viewing enjoyment:)

So we weren't sure what we were going to do today to celebrate Valentine's Day, we are going on vacation soon and so we are saving every penny we have. Anyway Chris just called me a little while ago to tell me that one of the big theatres downtown Boston is playing Shakespeare In Love for free tonight. How fun, so it is dinner for us and then off to the movie. I am not sure where we are going to go for dinner though, I will have to think about that one still.

We didn't get to church this Sunday since I have been sick since last Tuesday. First it was the full on flu (YUCK), and then turned into some sort of nasty upper respiratory infection or something. Although about 5 people have told me I totally sounded like I had laryngitis. Who knows....what I do know is that I am feeling A LOT better today.

We also were dog sitting for our landlords this past week. They live upstairs so we didn't really have to go far. But it was fun, and so good for Belle to have all the social time. They did have their moments though, my dog does not take well to other dogs getting near her food or toys. Aside from that stuff though I think all 3 of them had a great time playing.

I don't want to tempt fate here and write some long post only to have it freeze. Hopefully it won't be so long this time in between posts.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

I came across this pic of me today from a few years back. It made me laugh, look how dirty my car is. How I loved that little blue car, lol. Really though I did, it got me where I needed to go and where Tammy needed to go. lol! Posted by Hello

COFFEE!!!

Chris gets a free pound of coffee a week through work. Which is fun because each week we get a different kind. Sometimes we send them out to other people, but I am learning more and more that drinking a pound of coffee a week between two people is really not that difficult. Anyway, we are just finishing off a pound of Gold Coast! YUMMY! Which is Aileen's favorite and now I know why. I guess you could say Chris and I are a little addicted to our coffee, but I mean how can you not be. Between the free pound a week and the 30% discounts in the stores it really isn't our fault. And don't forget Chris gets free drinks all day long at work...a Gingerbread Latte here, a Peppermint Mocha there....and he wonders why he is always up so late at night! lol. All this talk about coffee makes me think I should change the name of my blog to something coffee related. hmmmmm!?!? Any ideas?

Blah Blah Blah

I know I know.....I haven't blogged in a while. Partly cause of the computer issue we have and partly cause well...who really reads this anyways. I mean honestly...I know Dave and Lori read it, but after that blah. Anywho maybe it is cause our lives are so boring there is nothing interesting to tell you about. Like this weekend, boring and uneventful. Went to church, watched the Superbowl. It is really no wonder there is never any feedback or comments except from Lori and Dave. Ok I am done whining now, and I am outtie!

Off To School I Go...

As most of you probably already know, I am planning on going back to school in the near future. I have always wanted to work with animals and I want to go back to school and become a Veterinary Technician. This can be a 2, 3 or 4 year program, depending on what you choose. For me at this time in my life I think the 2 year program would be best. Anyways the school that I was going to go to here in the Boston area no longer offers the course. There are only 3 other schools in MA that offer the program. One of them is in Newton which is only about 20 minutes from us, but the problem is they only offer the 3 year associate degree or the 4 year bachelor degree. The other 2 are over an hours drive from us. I guess it's not that bad, there a thousands of people who make that kind of commute every day. The other option that I have is to do an online program. Basically what happens is they send you the course work, and you send it back and really are open to working at your own pace. For labs and hands on things you are paired with a veterinarian in your area and they oversee that aspect of it. This is not totally out of the question I suppose, the one benefit from it would be that I could do the 3 year in 2. Anyways I am not sure yet, I need to really look into all the options and pray about it before I make a final decision. Either way I am excited about it.....

Good Read

I recently finished reading a book called The Sacred Romance:Drawing Closer to the Heart of God by John Eldridge and Brent Curtis. Go check out the link and read the review on Amazon.com. I just wanted to say that it is a great book, I think any of you would take a lot from it. That is all......

Finding a Church to Call Home!

Chris and I have been looking for months to find a church to call "home", we have been to quite a few different ones. Looking for a new church is a tough thing and we were getting so frustrated. We had been going to this one not far from our house, it was a great church and we loved the pastor but it just wasn't doing anything for us. There was not a lot of people our age and we didn't enjoy the worship. So this past week we started talking about finding yet another church to try out. So I got online and started searching through website after website till I finally came across one for a church in Cambridge called Hope Fellowship Church. As I was reading through the different information on the website the more I wanted to check this church out. So I emailed the pastor to ask him a few questions and decided we would go there on Sunday. So we went yesterday and it was wonderful. We were 20 minutes late mind you, but that was because of the fact there was nowhere to park on the street cause of all the snow...we ended up parking like 4 blocks away in a grocery store parking lot. Anyways the pastor was great, we enjoyed the worship and there seemed to be a lot of people our age and quite a few couples. It so happened that yesterday they were having a lunch after the service downstairs for the young s to talk about the new small groups that are starting up next week. And yes we qualify as young s....we are only 27...geez!! We had a good time, and it was a great opportunity to meet new people, which we did. We will be going back next Sunday and will give one of the small groups a try. We just really had a great feeling after we left there yesterday, we have not felt that with any of the churches that we have gone to since being here. It just felt like we were in the right place, and everything seemed to fit. The great thing is that there is so much going on at the church right now that we have so many opportunities to jump in and get involved and meet people. Anyway, we are both very excited about this church and look forward to learning more about it and the people there.

Let It Snow...Let It Snow....Let It Snow!!!

It has been a while again since I have had the computer run long enough to post something on here. So here I try again.....

The snow out here has been crazy, after the big storm last weekend it snowed again during the week like another 8 or so inches. So it has been a fun week of shoveling. Driving is crazy, not cause the roads are slippery but cause there is so much snow packed like a wall on either side of the roads. Sidestreets are a real trick cause they are like one lane roads, but there really isn't room to move out of the way if a car is coming the other way. It definitely makes things interesting. Chris has his fun by throwing Belle in the deep snow so she pretty much sinks and has to swim her way out, it's pretty funny. I promise I will get pictures up as soon as I can.

I know this post was short and not very exciting, but this is what you get when I am trying to post fast so the computer doesn't freeze. If you want excitement, read Lori's blog!! LOL!!

I think I Got Lost In a Snow Drift

So I finally got what I have been asking for. All through December I complained it hadn't snowed enough. As we got into January the snow started coming more often. And then finally this weekend as I am sure most of you know, Massachusetts had one of the biggest winter storms in the states history. They said it would start snowing around 4 pm on Saturday, and sure enough it did. It continued to snow very heavy through the night and most of Sunday. When all was said and done there was 4 feet in some areas of the state. We had over 2 feet at our place. And because of the wind the snow in our backyard was waste deep and we had to dig our way out of it. After we got out of the yard we spent a good 2 hours digging out Chris's van which was also buried in snow. As bad as this may sound to some of you, especially those of you in Seattle, California and Vancouver it really wasn't...at least for me. Now don't get me wrong, there is a lot of freaking snow outside. But this is a regular thing in Edmonton and the air is much much colder. But it was and is stinkin cold outside, the wind is nasty. I will be sure to take some pictures of the snow in our backyard and stuff and post them just as soon as the computer is running better. Having said all that, it is supposed to snow more this week. WOOHOOO!

Oh and one more thing...yesterday was my Dad and Lynne's one year anniversary. For those of you who don't know who Lynne is.....she is my stepmom who my dad married last year. I have never met her (odd I know), but from what I hear she is wonderful. So congratulations to them:)

As Lori once said....A Thundering I go!!!

We have this stupid cement step thing that is carpeted in the hallway leading to our living room from our kitchen. We have been here for 4 months almost and neither of us (or the dog) have ever tripped over it. We knew it was only a matter of time before one of us took a tumble. Well last night one of us did, and it was ME. Chris was getting ready to leave (he worked some overtime last night), and I was in the kitchen cleaning up the dishes and stuff. As I was coming back to the living room I somehow tripped on this darn thing. And I had Chris's cell phone in my hand so for some dumb reason I wanted to protect the phone and didn't put both hands out to catch myself. Yeah so I went crashing face first into the ground. On the way down I slammed my shoulder into the wall. It was GREAT! So I got some bruises and my shoulder along with the rest of me is sore sore sore.

Computer's Are NOT My Friend!!

Last night we finally got to the computer store to get a new hard drive. We decided to get a used one just to see if the hard drive is even the problem in the first place. So we got one for 16 bucks. Anyways we got home and proceeded to put it in the computer and TRY to install XP again. Only to find it freezing and doing the same stuff as before. So we ended up having to put the old hard drive back in. We will return the one we got last night and now we are going to have to get a new mother board. Ugh! We knew it was one or the other, we had just really hoped it was the hard drive since they are cheaper to replace. So it is back to being frustrated with the computer freezing and or not loading for us.

Have I mentioned we are going to Orlando? LOL! Just checking;) Can you tell I am excited!?

It is yet another very cold day, this morning we woke up to -20 f with windchill. brrrr! And we have another big storm coming our way on Saturday. Call me crazy, but I love every second of it. My three years spent in Vancouver BC and Seattle was depressing in the winter time. I grew up in -20 to -40 degrees celius my whole life in the winter. So to move somewhere where it rarely snowed and just rained ALL the time SUCKED! ha! So I am happy to be somewhere again that has REAL winter.

If Your Friend's Can't Sing, Don't Tell Them They Can

Another crisp winter day today here in Boston. We complained all of December that there was no snow, well the snow is sure showing itself as of late. Not that I am complaining, I love it. But snow and cold brings excitement for summer. Most notably our trip to Florida in May. Speaking of which, Chris and I were very happy to find out the Seattle Mariner's (baseball) will be in Tampa bay on the weekend of the 27-29. Of course it just happens to be when we are down in Orlando, so yes Chris and I will be heading to Tampa bay on the 27th to watch our Mariner's.
On a totally different note.....The only part of American Idol I tend to like is the auditions that are aired in the first few weeks. And while watching you have to wonder, what kind of friends do these people have that actually encourage them to go try out for this thing. I mean, some of these people were just flat out embarrassing, and yet they thought they could sing SO good. And really all you can do is laugh, there were quite a few that just made Chris and I lose it. All I know is if my friends or family told me I was so good and sent me on my way to an audition like that only to be completely humiliated...there would be hell to pay!!

Cheap Milk at the Corner Store??

So last night around 10 PM Chris and I realized we were out of milk, we got all bundled up and trekked out into the cold night to go to the grocery store. When we get there there is a sign on the door that says "Winter Hours 8 am-10 pm". Now the annoying thing was not so much the fact they were already closed, it was the fact we didn't know that cause they are normally open till midnight. I didn't realize people who work at the grocery store are that wussy that they actually have to close early in the winter. Anyway, as we were driving back home we decided to pull into the corner store near our house knowing we needed milk yet grumbling about how much we were going to have to pay for it at the store. To our surprise, it was ON SALE...a 2 litre (gallon) was $2.19. AT THE CORNER STORE. We both nearly fell over in shock. At the grocery store they are almost 4 dollars. So yes, it was a pleasant surprise. That was our eventful evening, exciting I know.

It is another cold day out east. Brrrrrr! I think it was 6 degrees or so when I took Belle out this morning. You know it is cold out when she runs down the stairs and goes to the bathroom as fast as she can and runs at top speed back inside and under the blankets. The thing I love about cold winters is that when summer comes it is so much more exciting. Speaking of warmer weather, only 121 days till we are off to sunny Florida. We leave May 19th, 4 months from today. Woooohooo!!

Good Morning

The most frustrating thing about having a computer that doesn't run properly is how random it chooses to be. I mean really, if your a hard drive and you don't work....THEN DON'T WORK!!!! It is like it teases me, you can almost hear it saying..." you can check your email "go ahead and blog" and then BAM it's frozen. LOL. Ok so that is my daily I hate my computer rant. Moving on....

It has been pretty cold lately, which makes me very very happy. I missed real winters when I was in Vancouver and Seattle. And sure it doesn't get as cold here as it does back home in Edmonton but it still gets cold enough. The last few nights have been super cold. The kind of cold that chills you right to the bone. Like when you go out to get in the car and your back hurts from shivering. It sounds terrible, but I love it. It's part of winter. And the best part is the snow has been on the ground for a while now. I love looking out the window in the morning to see beautiful white snow blanketed over everything.

I have to brag for a minute also and point out that I have lost 5 more pounds. WOOHOOOO!!! I know that may not sound like much to some people cause I have a long way to go, but for me that is HUGE and very very encouraging:)

Ok, time to end this before the computer freezes....knock on wood!!! Hopefully I will be back tomorrow.

Just a warning...

Ok so I had some weird ad posted on my site today. I am not sure what it was...I deleted it, but for future if you see any weird web addresses posted or anything don't click on it. It is pretty sad when the porn industry has to advertise by posting on people's personal sites. So sorry if any of you clicked on the website.

And So Goes the Battle.....

I know I talk a lot about weight loss, but that is one of the biggest things in my life right now. It's a struggle everyday to make the right choices. Even the little ones are so huge, like drinking water and not juice that is full of sugar or pop or whatever. I will say that not eating junk food is much easier for me than I thought it would be. I think mostly that is because when I was growing up my parents never bought a lot of chips, cookies and pop and stuff. Stuff like that was more of a "treat" for us on the weekends. Which is probably the biggest reason I was always very healthy and in great shape most of my life. So to make the decision now to not eat that stuff is not as hard as I imagine it is for some people. Where my problem lies is mostly within the meals that I eat. Now I cook dinner for us every night, but unfortunately sometimes when you are busy you go for the "quick" meals. Pasta always seems to fall into this category. Which we all know that too much pasta is the worst thing for someone trying to lose weight. I am losing weight, but once I start cooking healthier I know it will help so much more. Losing weight is a hard road to travel down, especially when there is negativity coming from certain people. Although maybe this negativity is in a way a good thing, maybe it drives me more to reach my goal and show people and myself that I can do this and I will do this. Another hard thing is that I think when a lot of people gain weight they sometimes lose some of who they used to be. I think for me that happened a little. I have always been known as the loud and outgoing person. I used to have so much confidence. But now I find myself less confident, much more quiet. I look forward to regaining my confidence, and refinding that outgoing person I have always been. Ok so that was a lot of rambling about weightloss. My apologies, but like I said it is a big part of who I am right now.

And here's to hoping we will have a new hard drive this week sometime and we will be up and running on a regular basis:)

Computer's Suck

Somehow my computer has decided to run for a little bit today. So I thought I should try and blog while I have the chance. We do need a new hard drive which we will probably pick up in this next week.

I got the most wonderful birthday card in the mail the other day. My most wonderful friend Lori sent me a card that was on a piece of pink paper colored on by her little girl Emma. It was so special, and the sap that I am it made me all misty eyed. Ha!

So Chris and I are going to Florida in late May for a week and a half. I guess you can say it is our delayed honeymoon. We are very much looking forward to the time in the Florida sun. It is 4 months away so hopefully I will have lost a lot more weight that I have already lost. I really want to feel good about myself on this trip, and actually want my picture taken, usually I will avoid it at all costs. At any rate, I am a big kid at heart and am very much looking forward to going to Disneyworld and all the other wonderful places down there.

With that said, I should probably just post this before my computer decides to freeze. As soon as we get the new hard drive I should be able to keep up to date on this like I was before, and then Lori can sleep better a night knowing there will be a post for her to read in the morning;)

Embracing a New Year!

I know I have not really been blogging lately, but this time my reasons really are good ones. Aside from the fact I really haven't had the time, our computer rarely works. Right now is one of the rare times it will run for like an hour or so. Lately it barely even loads windows. We are going to pick up a new hard drive this weekend and see if that is the problem.

It is hard to believe it is 2005 already. First Christmas came SO fast this year, then it was New Years before we knew it and then in the same breath it was my birthday. Crazy I tell you!! I turned 27 this week which totally floors me considering I can remember my 16th birthday like it was yesterday. How time flies in our lives. I am not one of those people who stresses about getting older, I am just amazed at how fast the years seem to be rushing by.

The beginning of a new year is an exciting time I think for most of us. For me I love the excitement of the unknown a new year can and will bring. This past year had its ups and its downs. The ups were wonderful, the most important one being on Sept 12, 2004 which is the day Chris and I were married. And a week later we were on the road to Boston to start a new chapter in our lives together. Moving to Boston has been amazing, neither one of us were sure what would be in store for us here or that we would even like it here. But we LOVE it, the city is amazing, we have met some wonderful people and we are so happy. As for the downs, there were a few...but it is those experiences in our lives that teach us, that help us grow and help us become better people. The good thing is that God is very faithful and no matter how much we screw up or stumble he is always there to pick us up and brush us off. We are so very blessed.

As for this coming year...I embrace the unknown, and I embrace the possibilities and I look forward to what may be in store for us. I look forward to whatever blessings God will bring, and I am thankful for what experiences await us...the good or the bad. And I am so thankful to have a wonderful husband to step into this New Year with.

Homemade Roses and Tackling Dogs

I forgot to mention two things...

Monday was my birthday, at the moment we are recovering from Christmas so we are a little broke. So anyways Chris wanted to get me flowers but couldn't cause we really didn't have the extra money. So he got all creative on me and while he was at work Monday afternoon he MADE me 12 pink bubble wrap roses. The stems were steel rods and the roses where attatched to these rods with electrical tape. So when he came home he presented me with this bouquet of homemade roses. And you know, they were wonderful. And it was such a very cute gesture. My guy, he amazes me all the time.

The other thing I need to mention before I forget is the fact that my dog should have been a football player. So the other night we were at this park we always take her too and there was a ton of snow still on the ground. Chris was throwing her tennis ball for her and stuff and so I decided I was going to start tackling her. It was fun, I was full out tackling my dog and making her fumble her ball. Anyways one time Chris threw the ball to me and I was reaching up to catch it, Belle arrived at the same time and jumped. As she jumped she ran into me and full out tackled me and knocked me to the ground. No jokes, there I was lying back down in the snow and there was my dog running in circles around me with her ball. Clearly she was proud of what had just occurred. Chris and at that point lost it and just started laughing, it was so funny.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year all!! I have not been able to blog for a few days cause our computer seems to decide when it does and doesn't want to work. For like 3 days it would not even load windows, then today it seems to be working. It is so messed up. It is definitely time for a new one.

I wish you all the best in 2005 and my prayer is that you will all be blessed in so many wonderful ways! Love you guys:)
